Goodbye 2005.....

Time really flies. Tomorrow mark the new beginning of 2006. Looking back, this year has been a very different year to me and this family. A year full of ups and downs and of course to welcome our beloved Jeremy into this world before kissing goodbye to 2005.

Growing Up

Ever since the birth of her little brother, Jamie already exercised her "big sister" love towards Jeremy. One particular night, she was seen helping the confinement lady to pick up Jeremy's soiled diaper automatically out of the bedroom! Other days, I witnessed her carressing her baby brother's feet, saying "Good Night" to him. It's so heartwarming and assuring...and for now, I dun have to worry about sibling rivary yet. Hope it will never happen.

Sick Bug

Jamie has been coughing since the day we came home from hospital. And her cough has deteriorated till she's now on nebuliser and oral medicine. Just hope that she will recuperate before this coming Christmas seasons. And her papa also has been coughing on and off... haiz...

Slimming Programme ?

I remembered vividly that I put on average 10kg (pre preg weight was ard 47kg) a day prior the operation. Then I was standing at 54.8kg 2 days after giving birth. And shortly 2 weeks later (16/12) when I returned back for my gynae checkup, I dropped another 3kg!!
Wow, now I'm at 51.8kg!! I couldn't comprehend why I lost so much weight just within 2 weeks when I'm eating well ? My confinement lady ensures that I eat lotsa rice, fish, vegetable, herbal soup and fruits daily. However despite all these, I'm really amazed at my speedy weight lost!! Friends who visited me couldn't believe that I have just given birth ! lol!!

Jamie vs Elmo

Was browsing through Jeremy's pixs and found this photo taken at the hospital on the 3rd day after Jeremy's birth. The Elmo was the welcome gift from Jeremy. And I realised that I missed Jamie so much so that when I saw her at the hospital, I couldn't stop talking and hugging her.

Welcome Jeremy!

Finally back from hospital on Tues after staying for another night so that I can breastfeed Jeremy since he's on photo therapy.
Now that a week has passed, I have yet to settle down as now with Jamie & Jeremy, it's a whole new task for me to adapt before my confinement lady leaves in another 3 weeks time. And while I'm trying to cope with breastfeeding Jeremy, catching up some rest becomes a challenge for me! My routine basically goes around breasfeeding, expressing breastmilk while yet trying to spend some quiet time with Jamie. Not to mention about stealing some time off to rest and recuperate. It has been a rather tough week for me indeed. And of course logging on to the internet has now become so difficult for me. Basically no time ..

Its THE TIME

Just came home from my regular gynae checkup... dunno if its consider good or bad news. Well, I will be giving birth tomorrow at 38.5 weeks (as baby doesn't seem to put on weight for the past 1 week). Initially Gynae assured us that I will be scheduled tmr to be induce and able to give birth naturally. However, after doing a routine cervix check on me, she has to do a caesarian instead as my cervix is not ready yet and there'll be a chance that my previous c-section wounds may rupture due to the long labour process. Well, hence we have decided to opt for epidural c-section instead of GA so that CQ can be around to witness the birth of our son !
If you ask me, how would I feel about 2nd c-section ?
Mmm... well... probably this time is an elective caesarian, which means time is on my side and I will be well prepared for it. Having enough time to ensure that Jamie is well taken care of etc etc... rather than a sudden labor pain with all the commotion and panicky. And worst of all, I am unsure how I'm going to cope this while at home or outside with Jamie!!
Now, I only hope that I can recover the soonest so that Jamie will not be too much affected by my "immobility". Haha.... and of course, we can celebrate Christmas at home too, yea!!

Counting Down

I'm getting more and more nervous as each day passes by and am wondering how will I be able to manage the birthing this time round ?? Woke up this morning and had a strange feeling.... that I might be going to give birth very soon. And my Braxton Hicks are getting more and more intense (or is it labor ??). Well shall get to know later after my appointment with gynae in the afternoon .... (UPDATE : Nope I am not into labour yet though I hope that it will happen some time between 1st-2nd week of Dec)

Rainy day

Such a rare occasion to be able to enjoy the cool breeze throughout the entire day ! It was so refreshing and yet wonderful to stay at home without even complaining of the usual hot and humid weather!! Both Jamie and I had a good time of playing, reading, watching Barney & Hi-5 on TV and my special delivery for my breakfast and lunch meals from Macdonalds :D

Herbs Herbs Herbs

See all those specially packed confinement herbal soup ingredients ?? I purposely gone down to the nearby medical hall to ask for 30days supplies so that CQ need not have to make trips to the medical hall (previously, he went to the medical hall to get those pre-packed soup ingredients which was not specially prepared for confinement use). And I also need to get 30 days supplies of Da-Feng-Chao (herbs to brew for bathing).

Gentle Reminder From Above

Had a bad dream about renewing my driving license and woke up at 4am and I couldn't get back to sleep till almost 6am. My last license expired on 16th Nov 2002. So I thought the 3years grace should ends on 16th Nov 2005 which is tomorrow, Wednesday. **already made plans to go to Ubi Police Headquarter on Wed**
Panicked and worried, immediately I made a trip down to my parents' house and left Jamie with my sis's maid while I hurried down to the headquarter, keeping my fingers crossed.
And thank God I finally managed to renew my license and was told by the counter aunty, over several times, that I was very lucky to have my license renewed today cos today is my last day for renewal!!!! WOW! Thank God that I came down! And the aunty even told me that they do not entertain appeal even for a day's missed. Phew!! Then I realised that the bad dream that I had was God's sent dream ! Till now, I am very glad that I had taken the dream seriously....

Birth Plan

Knowing that I'm into my 36th weeks of pregnancy, I probably may get into labour anytime from now. And this also hastened my anxiety to give birth naturally, if possible. I was reading on inducing labour from this website and realised that indeed, there's a higher chance that the mom will go through a c-section if she is induced! This finally explained why Jamie was in distressed (insufficient oxygen) barely 4 hours after I was induced. Hence this time round, I shall not be allowed to be induced right on my EDD.. praying that I will experience the natural labour symptoms ....

Finally it's the TIME ...

After much discussion with CQ, we finally settled Jamie in a nearby pre-nursery playgroup at Jurong Christian Church (1 1/2 bus stop away from home) next year after she crosses 2 1/2years of age (according to the principal). So she will be attending school tentatively in early March. This morning I brought Jamie for the orientation and while waiting for my turn to settle the registeration and payment, Jamie was seen happily mingling with kids of her age, walking around in the classroom, seemingly able to adapt well to the new environment. She even greeted the principal, waved and said "good bye" to the teachers !! Let's hope she will be able to behave and adapt well next year when she's officially start school.

Welcome Onboard!!

Received news that KH's baby has safely arrived ... yea!!!!
So happy for the couple! So now they join the rest of us, parents, to nurture and educate our kids. Happy parenting !!
And now, I started to feel the urgency to finish whatever I need to do before it's my turn. Ha... at least I managed to pre-ordered a 30 days packs of confinement herbal soups ingredients from a nearby medical hall :D

How much my blog worth ??

Have been tagged by raindanz.... haha... worth nothing! Anyway, to me, it's priceless!!
Click here to test it out ur blog.!

Congrats Janice!!

When to TMC to visit Janice and her newborn this afternoon.
Prior that, I made a blundered and went to KKH instead!! Being such a blurred queen, after searching for half an hour, I suddenly realised that its the wrong hospital !!! Arrrgghh!!!
So we took a cab there..... Luckily Janice has not yet discharged hence we managed to spend about an hour there, chit chatting with her. She was telling me that good thing she drank few glasses of milk as I was sharing with her about 2-3 glasses of Anmum 1 that I've been taking since my pregnancy commenced. Her baby was estimated to be around 2.7kg when born but to their surprise, it's 3.29 kg !!! Wow I'm totally amazed!
Gee.... shall continue my daily milk intake and see if this works on our son or not??

Christmas Tree @ Home

Ever since I bought the Barney Christmas VCD months ago, Jamie seems to love to watch it over and over again.... hence I supposed she has a glimpse of what Christmas means to us. Since I have promised her that we will have a Christmas tree set up in our house, we decided to set it up at a corner in our living hall tonight. At last... it's done....!!

Painting Session

Today I spent most of our time having fun doing activities together. First it was the egg, then the painting, and lastly the reading and watching her fav cartoon before she took her afternoon nap. Phew!!!

humpty dumpty ....

Here's a Humpty Dumpty for Jamie to play!! She just love eggs.... all sort of eggs!! Edible or inedible, doesn't matter to her. Hahaha, and I was telling her.."Jamie, this is an old egg. Look at its white hair ? Just like gong-gong??"
