Jamie finally completed her 1st card (she was rewarded 1 star sticker for not fussing over washing hair)! So I brought along $20 (supposingly her own savings) to bank into her account and to redeem the free gift which is a big A4 book! Also collected the #2 card. Hmm, I shall start the #2 with another target for her to achieve :D

A Day @ Home
While CQ was busy buzzing in his work room, we had alot of fun in the living hall. We played drum, fixed up a playhouse to hide n seek, did some hands-on playdough and Jamie did her usual cooking stuff. These already occupied the kids the entire morning before Jamie proceed to her ballet lesson at 2pm.
April's Fool Birthday
Ya that's my birthday. Strange thing is, I dun have the "birthday girl" mood and everything still goes on as normal. I told CQ not to stress over giving me any birthday surprises since he is already very tied up with work as well as preparation for his exam this coming week. We can alway celebrate after his exam anyway. So I made Jamie sang me a birthday song and she drew me this card for me! So sweet!

Numbers Sequence
Never did I realised that such exercise is tough for her. As I thought if the child knows how to count, she should be able to know what's come next or before, right? But I was wrong. It took her quite some time to understand the concept. Every challenge that I face with Jamie is also a good lesson for me to learn! Afterall, we are laying firm foundation during their first 6 formative years.

Ikea Mala Easel Board
Went to IKEA this evening and saw this easel stand's price slashed further again! So I asked Chunquan to get it for the kids. I also bought the Mala's chalk & an extra roll of paper for drawing as well as for homeschooling purposes. Definitely a very good investment

Zoo Phonics Term 1 Assessment
Tonight Jamie was assessed by her teacher. I was peeking at her throughout the assessment. Overall, I think she is doing well. Here's what her teacher has to say... "Jamie has shown great sound and signal however, Jamie needs lots of support to sound out (basically she was asked to sound and do the various animals' signals pertaining to each sound. For this, I am the least concern if she doesn't do the signals. What I hope to see is she is phonemically aware) but she tries her best. Great work! "
Natural Purifier
I'm selling away my existing purifier for a better alternative. A friend of mine who is selling the natural salt crystal for more than a year at her online store, is giving me a very good offer! Hmm......wait till I clear off my current purifier hor.

Fine Motor Skills
I used to search high and low just for a suitable plastic tweezer to let Jamie practise. Now I finally got 2 from another educational tool that I bought ! So I try it out on Jamie and obviously its a piece of cake for her! Now, I'm waiting for Jeremy to reach at least 2yrs old before he can practise it.

A Trip to the Farmart
Took the kids to the Farmart this morning. Good weather except no wind. The kids enjoyed the most while feeding the mountain goats! I'm very amazed that both of them went very close to feed the mountain goats without any fear. And they also had a close encounter feeding the rabbits, hamsters, tortoises, frogs & fishes. I'm glad I brought them there to remind them about God's beautiful creation.

Jamie's 1st Children Bible
I have been searching for that "perfect" book for her since long time ago. Bought some but it's either too wordy to test her patience for papa/mama to finish reading or the pictures are not lively enough to capture her attention.
BUT, this morning, while in church, I finally found just the right for her!! Hurray!
Bruise
Hanging Mobile
Jamie did this while I was away yesterday morning for the phonics workshop . I purposely instructed her what to do with the stars that I drew on the party paper plates and left.
She drew a seashell on the paper plate & gave it rainbow colors. Next, for the 3 stars, she colored, pasted stickers, painted and managed to cut out 2 out of 3 stars neatly all by herself! And she used those children's size plastic scissors and the paper plates are much thicker than the usual 80gsm paper. To me, she has done a very good job afterall she's only a 3.5yr old kid. I am so proud of you, Jamie!

Yummy !
Kids are getting better so I decided to give them some ice cream after dinner. Look at Jeremy's reaction! It's his 1st experience eating ice-cream!
Time for Workshops
While Jamie has just started learning phonics in JCK and Zoo Phonics, I also have enrolled myself into some workshops relating to Phonemic Awareness & Phonics as well as
I believe in working hand in hand with her school teachers in order to accomplish optimal results. And so I will be busy on almost all Saturdays morning since February and this month. Here are the workshops (except Jolly Phonics)

Nursery Term One 2007
Morning went to see Jamie's teachers for her term one review. We spoke alot but generally, feedback about her are as follow. She used to do these at home more than a year ago. So , I think its easy that's why she don't need teacher's assistance.
1) Restless
2) Mature
3) Independent & does school work without supervision needed
4) Quiet
5) Speaks only when necessary

大家讲hua* 语
Ever since Jamie goes to school, she also begin to speak more Mandarin. I used to be very concerned over her not wanting to speak in Mandarin but now I am relieved and will not enrol her into 天下at the moment unless her Mandarin doesn't improve.
*hahaa I couldn't find this word but you know what it is right?
I Can Speak
Jeremy has started to speak Mandarin bit by bit. I am so happy! These are what I heard from him so far.
火, 给我, 花, 人, 月亮, 汤....
