I have been teaching Jamie Chinese subject on every Tuesdays since she started school last year. And this year, I have decided to add on one more, that is to teach her some simple yet essential drawing skills so that she is able to draw better as she seems to love to draw. So this morning after our chinese lesson, I taught her how to draw a chick, peanut & sunflower. I am not good in drawing but we will both learn together as we go along :P
Don't know where did I picked up the courage to chop down my long black hair which I have been keeping it for years. Yes there were times when I really trimmed my hair to shoulder length but I never changed the style. I cut my hair on last Saturday, colored it on Sunday and highlighted today. The outcome? Hmm, I don't really like the highlighted color though the hairstyle and coloring were good. Wanna see my new hairstyle??
Today is Jeremy's first day of school at Evergreen Montessori. I am really very happy that this day has finally arrived for him to learn something formally in a school environment. As a matter of fact that I am unable to teach him at this age, its wiser to send him out to continue learning rather than putting a halt to it till next year.
We were invited to Jamie's friend, YuTong's 5th birthday party at Explorer Kids, Downtown East this evening. Journey is surely looooong but we had alot of fun playing and enjoyng ! Happy Birthday, YuTong!
Found these 2 Everland cute furry hats given by Jamie & Jeremy's Xiao Gu & Gu Zhang when they were holidaying in Korea last year. So surprise that even I can wear it though its a little tight :D
Didn't want to give up so I got some big straws (those I used it for my bubble tea drinks) and let him thread. As usual, his concentration level is pretty short whenever it comes to this exercise. This time, he managed to string 2 straws I think. Sigh!
It happened swiftly while I was taking my shower before bedtime. She was complaining to her papa about some pain and shortly after we were shocked to find out some some blood stained on her right foot! Apparently she had stepped on a small glass particle while playing in her daddy's studyroom. Good thing its not a deep cut.
After 1.5mths of rest & relax, finally it's time for Jamie to go back to school! I think I am happier than her ! She is now in Kindergarten 1.And this year, it will be another new beginning for her to embark on new learning be it at home, school or elsewhere. I am definitely anxious to see how much more she will grow academically, physically as well as emotionally.
No doubt holiday is meant to be a time to play hard, enjoy and relax, Jamie needs to submit 4 school holiday projects when school re-opens tomorrow. Haiz, no choice, afterall, its also parent-child projects.Thank God we managed to complete everything on time!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I did this for Jamie's K1 scrapbook as requested by her teacher. This book will compiles and showcasing all her works, photos of excursions, projects we will be doing together as well as it also marks down Jamie's academic, phyiscal, emotional and social development details here.
CQ suggested that we go to Botanic Garden so we were there for a short while before darkness turned in. Night time we strolled along Orchard Road to catch a glimpse of the Christmas decorations before it makes way for CNY.
Very happy that papa is free today to go to church with us! One of my Y2008 resolution is that he can go to church with us on every Sundays. See the girl sitting behind Jamie? That's her best friend, Kelly. She's turning 8 this year.
Forgotten to include my once a week tuition commitment, relief teaching for 3 days for my friend who was down with chicken pox. So I was pretty packed and busy literally throughout the Nov-Dec school holiday!
Saw this interesting r/c toy at a major departmental store earlier this month and it striked me to get it for CQ as Christmas present! Looks cool but in actual fact, not easy to manipulate and control. See the linkhere.
It's Boxing Day today and for all you know, presents are to be open only on this day..yup thats right today. So we all sat down and opened the presents one by one.... and one of my wish list when I was asked what do I want for Christmas is a new digital camera though our current's 5yrs old, paid around $800+ Canon Ixus V3 is still in good condition, but seems like technology has proven itself that its long outdated and hence here's my new gadget for Y2008 and beyond! Thanks to Jamie's & Jeremy's papa! Guess what I gave him this year? Hahaha, its a remote control helicopter! One should also have a taste of toying with such gadget not only for children.
Borrowed an AMC frying pan from a friend as I had initially planned to try out pizzas for the 2 Christmas parties but somehow I was caught up with things at very last minute and hence it didn't come to pass. However, I was very determined to do it so I decided to make 2 for lunch today. I have never imagine that I can really cook! Thanks to AMC!
**********************************************************My hope during this season ... for all of us at home to draw close to Him so that we can live a life that's according to His purpose , not ours ! Merry Christmas!
I'm the chef tonight while its CQ when our friends were here last night. Weird thing about both of us is, he likes to cook western food while I prefer chinese cuisine. So tonight I cooked fried bee hoon using AMC pan & other stuff. Very satisfied as we din order from any KFC, Mac or Pizza Hut!
We have invited some of our ex-cg frens from our previous church over for a dinner gathering. It's really so nice to see one another again, chatting & cracking jokes like what this gang used to be. Missing family from the above photo is KH's family. They have gone home slightly earlier.
It's always good to know more friends..especially when we share good deals and lobangs. Here, I managed to get free admission to the Science Center for 3 adults & 2 kids! Yup, my friend got the corporate card from her other friend and hence, we only paid for 2 kids' admission tickets at a discounted rate of $2.25 per child !
Today Jamie received her 1st Christmas greetings card. Guess from who? It's her next year K1 form teacher, Mrs Yee!! Btw, Mrs Yee is new to the school. She will commence her teaching career at Jamie's school next year.
Don't know why we went to Suntec City instead of Taka !! Thank God before its too late, we quickly took MRT back to Orchard! Phew, we were on time & managed to get a good spot at the side of the stage. While the kids had a wonderful time watching the entire show, I was busy videoing down as much footages as I could so that Jamie & Jeremy can watch it anytime at home.
I almost forgotten that we have a pre-arranged outing to the airport with my dear hearing impaired friends this morning till I received an sms late last night! Good thing that I was reminded else the children will not get an opportunity to see the aeroplanes!
Heard about the show from friends and since my holiday programmes has just ended, we headed down to Marina Square this afternoon for a short 1/2hr showtime. Though its short, the kids had a great time watching the Live Barney & Friends on stage!
Tonight we brought the kids to Swenson for a nice dinner and Jeremy has his 1st free birthday firehouse complimentary from the restaurant + "birthday carolling" from the staff too!
Today marked the day that you were born some 2 years ago. Time really passed so swiftly and now you are capable of doing things that a 2 years kid can do. We are all so proud of you and are looking forward for many many more years of birthdays celebrations we can have with you. May the Lord watches over you and may you grow to know and love Him with all your heart!
This is another series of making use of recycled materials. Here, we are using used eggs crater & straws as primary recycled materials. Other materials involved are, construction papers, nylon strings, double sided & sticky tapes & ribbon.
We were away for a 3D2N stay in a 2 bedroom suites at Holiday Inn Batam Resort over last weekends. Came back on Monday evening. Had a wonderful time with CQ for couple of time alone dining without the children, went for a spa while the kids had their afternoon nap, and we had a long dip in the pool during the 3 days there! Kids were enjoying at Panda Kids Club and I managed to do up a simple craftwork with Jamie! Will be uploading some pixs up soon...
Here, I find my own sanity's world to recap all the children's developmental's progress as well as thoughts to share. Jamie, our first born, has turned 17, 9 years after I started this blog. Followed by Jeremy, turning 15 coming December. Joshua, the youngest in the family, just turned 11yo. Time flies ! I have just managed to retrieve access to this maiden blog after 9 long years of inactivity LOL
