June School Holiday Craftworks

We did this within a day. And as expected, the leaves withered so fast so no point doing it weeks ago. Or else chances are, I will have to re-secure the leaves' corners with sticky tape again.

This is one of the excursion that I like...cos free for Jamie (from GainIQ) and 50% off for the adults (thks to Eunice's hb!) while Jeremy who is below 3, free too!

Visit to Dentist @ Smiles

It's their yearly visit again. This time I'm so glad that Jamie sat through the checkup and had her teeth polished ! And Jeremy, brave too! (perhaps its this fun ride that he's looking fwd after the checkup?) The dentist said no need to clean or polish his teeth, checked, ok. And I've 15% off for being a Star member of Toysrus!

Story Island Hand Puppet Theatre Camp

This shall be Jamie's last holiday camp this June holiday. This will run from today till Thurday, 930-130pm. A good timing since our helper is away for home leave. Hope she will learn something through this camp while I will be busy with Jeremy at home.

Holidaying @ Bintan Nirwana Gardens

This is our 3rd resorts trips since Jeremy's birth. Seems like for now, such short trips suit us best till probably another year or two when he is bigger than we may consider going further. Nirwana Gardens has better food choices vs Holiday Inn Batam. Beach is supreme for the price we are paying. However we are not so impressed with its room amenities. This time we took a late evening ferry back and by the time we reached home, its already almost 9pm! This is our ONE and ONLY family photo taken so far.

Ballet First Upcoming Performance

As usual, I stood outside the door, peeping at Jamie. Strange, there's another teacher apart from Ms Yap. And the kids were seemed to be doing some kind of performance. But I'm not so sure and was quite puzzled till we were told to meet at the office for an announcement. True enough, we were told that Jamie's class has been selected to be one of the performing groups come 4th & 5th July at Hwa Chong! What performance?? Haha, I've forgotten about it! Though it's not mandatory which some parents didn't gave the teacher their reply, I've told the teacher that Jamie will be participating as I think this will be a great opportunity for her. Thank God she's also eager and willing to try :D

Mind Your Business, Vemo!

This is Jamie and the 2 groups of kids acting as the octopus & turtle. The class of 20 kids were happily dancing and performing for their parents to mark the end of the speech & drama camp. Jamie was a little reserved when come to public performance but still she was bold and did some movement here and there. So cute!! Btw, she's one of the octopus.

Finally

After waiting for 4years after the announcement of en-bloc at our estate, we finally took our keys this morning. Cannot believe that we have actually waited for 10years to own a new flat! Well, at least our prediction has come true :)

Henry the Octopus

The children did a blown up balloon represent one of the character they acted during the camp.

I've never thought of trying out using oil pastel till this morning when she did the ladybird using oil pastel. And I also din realised that I have a box of oil pastel sitting in the study room!! So I took it out and let the children have some fun !

Kinderart Trial Lesson

Morning brought Jamie to her school for an hour of trial session. We were allowed to sit in throughout the lesson. After a brief explanation on how to draw and color the ladybud using oil pastel, the children quickly sat themselves down and started doodling. Here's what Jamie did. Well done with 3 different colors selected as instructed by the art teacher.

Magical Moments Holiday Camp (25-30May)

As we will be collecting keys for our new house tmr, meaning, I will not have time to organise any school holiday programmes for Jamie, I have arranged alternative for her. This week, Jamie will be attending a 5 days English Speech & Drama Camp hosts by Magical Moments at the nearby CC. Here's what she did for the past 2 days.

Victoria Theatre

Here's a glimpse of the stage before it commenced. And there's Jamie's ballet friend, Elizabeth. One thing I have learnt, we need to have good seating, preferably first few rows in order to enjoy the entire drama :)

Reluctant Dragon / Winds in the Willow

We will be catching 2 musical entertainments by Kenneth Grahame this coming Saturday! I'm very excited as this will be our 2nd time watching a play at a theatre! This time, Jamie's friend, Elisabeth and her mommy will be joining us :) ===============================================
"..The Reluctant Dragon is a story about friendship with people different from ourselves. Be ready for a stirring tale of friendship between a shepherd’s son and a gentle and poetic dragon, who is reluctant to fight and would love nothing better than to be accepted into society. While The Wind in the Willows is a cautionary tale about the dangers of materialism and what it means to be truly happy. These stories appeal to the young and the young at heart. Both stories deal with themes of multiculturalism, racial harmony, personal roots and a sense of home, and act as perfect educational lessons for the youth of today."

Arts Exhibitions

Here's the artwork done by parent-child but the look of it, I suspected its done mostly by adults :D

Meet the Parents Session

This is Jamie's close friend, Camelia. She was happily playing with Camelia while I'm busy queuing up to see her teachers. At the end of the session, I was very pleased with Jamie's achievement in school. Teachers complimented that she is one of the high achievers among the 120 over K1 students. One obvious improvement is that she is more vocal and participates more in class and group's discussion. A glance at her report, she's given "excellent" grades for majority of the assessments which makes up above 95% of the overall rating. When I asked her what she wanted as a reward, she eagerly replied with a smile, "I want to sleep with mama in aircon room!!" This is our Jamie... very contented with small things indeed.

More Work @ Home

Since the news of voluntary closure announced on MOH's website on Monday, Jamie has been staying home until today when she finally went back to school after getting an assurance from her form teacher that the school is fine now after an inspect done yesterday. So, since she's kept at home for 2 days, I gave her some work to do.

Let's Do Some Work!!

Today has been a busy day for me. Jamie is busy doing her elearning while Jeremy doing some practical life exercises. Today I let both of them try on using princher. Not easy for Jeremy but he managed to do it himself!

Underwater World Art & Craft

This is a voluntary work to be submitted by today to Jamie's school. Apparently this Thursday & Friday are "Meet the Parents" sessions whereby we will be seeing the teachers for assessment of our kid's performance in school. Alongside with this, we are also encourage to do up a parent-child craftwork for exhibition on this 2 days. Due to the complexity and last minute work, I ended up doing most of the craft myself while Jamie suggested ideas here and there.

HFMD Updates

A friend just informed me this morning that Jamie's school is listed on MOH's website as one of the voluntary closure kindergartens starting today! I couldn't believe my eyes as I swiftly browsed through the website. After confirming it, immediately I went to the school to inform her form teacher that Jamie shall stay at home till 20th May as suggested by MOH. What disappointed me is that the school will still be open for lessons since its not classified as "Mandatory Closure". Well, anyway, I think its only right that I should keep her away from the school for the next 10days.

Blessed Mother's Day!

Jamie gave me this heart shaped Mother's Day card right after her class this afternoon. It's so sweet although can see she did it in a rush.

Magazine for Jamie

I have been sourcing around for a suitable magazine for Jamie for quite some time and I finally found one just right for her!! Disney Playhouse! Here she can read about her favourite Little Einstein as well as other interesting games and puzzles to play along in the magazine!

Trimmed Again?

Ever since Jamie had her hair cut 3inch shorter than her usual shoulder length, her hair had been quite messy and unkept. I couldn't understand what went wrong wif her hairstyle till I brought her to the salon for a trim. I told the hairstylist that I want her hair to be "layered", that's it. Now she looks so much like herself & its nice too! Will take some nice pixs of her and upload here.

Mother's Day Gift

Jamie handed me the chocolate cookies and card at school gate today. Then, while still holding onto the carnation, she suddenly asked me to have it as "this is for you, mama!" I was quite surprised that the 2 cookies are for me as I thought its from her Jacob Ballas excursion today. Then Jamie said, mama, you have 1 and I have 1 ok? Hahhahahahaa!!
See how careful he is? He needs more practise, from holding the handle, to careful pouring bit by bit, it is sure tough !

Very Free

Suddenly I feel very free today. Perhaps becos I have just completed a scrapbook and have yet to start a new project. So, I went ahead to prepare some practical life exercises to do with Jeremy. We did some scooping, pinching and pouring exercises. Not easy for him as he spilled over the water a couple of times. Today I also reinforce to train him how to carry the tray properly, name all the items one at a time and also make sure he sits down on the mat with legs crossed. He is much disciplined nowadays. I am satisfied.

Big Brother Phone

I thought such phone has long extinct but was so surprised when CQ brought this home from China! Asked him why he wanted to get such an awful out of fashion phone? He simply answered "It's Dai-Kor-Dai" le! Wah pian, cannot stand it! Luckily this phone doesn't burn a big hole in his pocket. Btw, its videocam cum touch screen phone hor. Kool rite?

Closed Up Mini Album

Honestly speaking, this is my best artwork & its also my favourite scrapbook so far. Hope jjpapa loves it as much as I do. Happy Father's Day in advance!

Numbers Board

This may seems easy but it took Jamie quite some time to complete the 100 board. With this exercise, she also understands the tens and ones concept better visually.

Papa Is Back!!

After 10days away from home, CQ is finally back to the familiar house & usual noise of the children. While he was away, I did a scrapbook for him. Most of the photos taken were from our home studio taken last year July 7th. And guess what? He has slimmed down his waistline too :D

Jacob Ballas Children's Playground

It was our first time visiting here and the kids have alot of fun playing especially Jamie and her friend, Elizabeth. The play area is small yet comfortable enough to fuss out their energy here! We left the garden around 615pm and headed to Tanglin Mall for a nice meal. The kids were obviously worn out at the end of the day!!

Labour Day

Went for dim sum at Red Star Restaurant located at Chin Swee Road for an early celebration of Mother's Day for our mother. The crowd was amazingly ridiculously crowded! It all started right at the old rundown lift lobby of Block 54. When we finally reached 7th floor, another huge crowd blocked the restaurant's entrance! This was not all, the crowd continued even inside the restaurant! Terribly horrible I thought and I supposed the food should be commendable since so many people flocked to this more than 40yrs old HK style eatery. To my dismay, most of their dim sum were salty and not satisfactory to my taste buds! What a letdown... however their mango pudding is great!
