After whrestling for quite a while, I've decided to start Josh on cereal. He is taking it well so far. Hmm, soon the start of puree and semi solid food....
See how happy CQ's mother ? I suppose this shows how much joy Joshua brings to them.... anyway, he is such a loveable, big eyes baby that melts people's heart.
Jamie took home her 1st test paper from school. Am very pleased wif her results although I think she should score full marks. Was penalised for "cao" (grass) as she wrote "chao" instead. Sayang!
Joshua now weighs at 8.4kg, 68.5cm tall and his head is the biggest among our 3 children, 46cm! And today he had 2 jabs...the usual 5-in-1 and the pneumoccocal 2nd jab. Ouch!!
This chance upon me when I was browsing through some books from a mini book fair at Jamie's school yesterday. I am rather ignorant about mind mapping and didn't daunt on me that this may be a gateway to be successful in composition writing! Now I'm exploring the possibility of me attending a mind mapping workshop so that I can better understand the magic of using this to coach my children in their composition writing.
I've never imagine that Jeremy can do mental arithematic at the age of 4. Afterall Jamie only started it when she was almost 6yo. You see, this is one of the good thing being the "lau-er" or even "lau-san" ie, they just zoom straight into the "correct path" whatever their older sibling had gone through the rough way. So time is not wasted in the sense. Just now I was revising abacus wif him and tested him 3 single digit addition-subtraction sums. Eg 1+3+5 or 2+2-1. And he surprised me !! Well done !!
I'm surprised that Jamie is just a little bit shorter than her 9yo cousin! Both of them had a lot of fun playing together while we had our reunion dinner in the kitchen.
There are days when Joshua doesn't nap when I'm about to send Jamie to school. So today, he came along wif us and Jamie was very happy whenever her baby brother came along!
So relieved to see that Jamie is happily settling down in her new school despite her form teacher going on long leave(till end March)shortly after end of 1st week. Thanks to Chiku Christina (relief teacher) who made extra effort in making sure the children get to know one another, settling down fast and even took few pictures of the class. Now Jamie no longer so reserved and quiet as compared when she first started school.
Wah we are into our 10th wedding anniversary !! 10years ago, both of us were busy preparing our wedding at Chijmes and now we are already parents of 3 kiddos! No candle light dinner except Crystal Jade lunch wif bb Joshua in tow and supper at Bakerzin after Josh went to bed. I gave him a Thermos mug and a pair of crocs shoes while he paid for a pair of Lee Cooper sneakers for me.
This shall be Josh's 1st pair of walking shoes he is going to wear during coming CNY. It fits him nicely indeed! Thanks to my friend, BL for the little gift!
Joshua is still receiving his daily b/w flash cards sessions at least twice a day. He loves staring at it especially those complicated pictures wif red colors.
Initially I thought the hairdresser was not out to be a hairdresser when she didn't even know exactly what style I wanted her to trim for Jeremy! However, after careful, detailed instructions given to her, the turnout was just as GREAT!! And Jeremy, for the first time, has a boy-boy haircut!! Hahhaaaa!!!
Finally after Jamie started it 7 months back, its Jeremy's turn now. He is slowly getting the foundation right with more practices and drilling both in class as well as at home.
Finally we made it over last weekends for a short 2 days of fun n relax for the family! Think the kids enjoyed themselves the most while its tiring for the adults... either from lack of sleep or from bringing them to play the whole day. Anyway, its a good one despite the high noise level at 12mn on Saturday when many were celebrating birthdays and BBQ parties. I couldn't sleep a wink. Will be posting up some nice photos...
See how carefree & happy Jamie was while at the chalet??
Joshua is growing very fast and today, finally, I've decided to start training him. Don't ask me how and what cos its really impromptu and I do hope that I can be consistent and "condition" him now for successful potty training.
Didn't want Jamie to eat in school everyday hence I've started looking into getting nice bento boxes, moulds, silicon/plastic cups, mini forks & spoons and cutters etc so that I can whip up an interesting yet delicious afternoon snacks meals for her. And I told her that she will bring my bento to school on every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while she will have pocket money to buy food herself on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today I did a quickie cheese egg omelette wif marcoroni and finish up wif an onion cheese sausage. Guess what? The lunchbox was empty when she came home!! Yummy!
Ever since Jamie starts P1 in the afternoon, as expected, indeed I do have more time for Jeremy which I will have more time alone wif him. Today, we were playing this "rush hour" IQ game. Cannot imagine, he is beginning to pick up more of such games from Jamie and can play on his own liao.
Today marked the start of Jamie's primary school life for the next 6years. I am glad that I'm around for her during this important phrase of her milestone.
Guess who did CQ and I counted down to welcome the new year?? It's Joshua!! Whahahaa.... I was feeding him while counting down lol! My new year resolution? I would like to press on to complete IDT at our church and to apply Proverbs 22:6 for our children.
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Here, I find my own sanity's world to recap all the children's developmental's progress as well as thoughts to share. Jamie, our first born, has turned 17, 9 years after I started this blog. Followed by Jeremy, turning 15 coming December. Joshua, the youngest in the family, just turned 11yo. Time flies ! I have just managed to retrieve access to this maiden blog after 9 long years of inactivity LOL
