Bought "Never-Bored Kid" (by Eva Moor) book for Jamie some time ago and since she need not have to go to school in the morning (report to sch by 330pm 4 tonight's graduation), I started her on first few pages. As its meant for age 8-9, grade 3-4, I wasn't prepared to introduce her so early for fear that she might not be able to understand the concept well. Surprisingly, it wasn't that tought afterall!

K2 Graduation Concert
This Friday is Jamie's graduation. Time passed so swiftly. At a blink of an eye, she's gonna graduate from kindergarten 2!! Today finally she took back her performance purple dress. Wif the "improvised" patent shoes (the shoes is about 1" bigger which I managed to put in sole and some tissue papers in front) & lacy socks I've borrowed from a fren, everything is now ready !!

Phonics Programmes
Ever since I've started Jeremy in phonics at home, he has shown obvious improvement in memorising the single sounds of the alphabets. And now we are moving quickly into word families. Who says its too late to introduce at 3yrs 10mths ? I suppose the important note is not whether to introduce it early or at later stage, but whether the child is willing and receptive (which i still believe in early literacy) to learn. And when you are able grasp the child's "right timing", you will see positive results instead. Here's one of the interesting video clips I've managed to source from youtube. Didn't know there's so many of such free resources easily available !

Mental Arithmetic Advanced Level
Jamie is now into advanced stage wif over 95% accuracy. On average, she can complete 40 sums, 3 single digit additions/subtraction in about 2mins+. I was told there's still many levels to accomplish but it will be according to whichever books she has completed. And apparently, she still left few more books b4 proceeding to multiplication and division. I think its pretty fast since she started abacus in June 1st this year.
Before School
These days I managed to grab the boy and did some work wif him. Formally started him phonics. Dunno if its "too late" but anyway, he is in "ready-mode" now so I think its the right time to coach him. And since he is back at Little Neuro Tree, there will be some homework for him to do at home as well.

Back to Ballet
Dr Chew called me earlier this week to answer my query regarding "no strenous activities" that was stated on the excuse letter that we received lately. At the end of our conversation, he concluded that as long as Jamie does not engage in any competitive sports, that's fine. Casual, fun sports that dun last long is fine. Ballet? I asked. After telling him what she will be doing in a typical 45mins long ballet lesson, he gave me a green light!! I'm just as glad cos this would means that Jamie will be joining the group for RAD exam next year April!

Ballet RAD Grade 1 Exam 2010
Jamie might not be able to go for the exam in view that she has to continue Aspirin treatment for the next 2 more months till late December. I've wrote in to the dance school to see if she can be allowed to continue the coaching lessons after she completes the medication.

Right Brain Training
Joshua was exceptionally alert today and since he din sleep, I quickly set up the swim tub and there he goes! This time, he was in the tub for longer period as he seemed to be enjoying kicking and floating (its only his 2nd time and he already very seasoned "swimmer"). And I've added the b/w flash card as part of the training session for him!

Joshua 1st Swimming Experience
Bought this lately and surprisingly Joshua didn't cry or whine. After that, Jamie & Jeremy both had a wonderful time of fun in the swim tub too!!
