This is Jamie and the 2 groups of kids acting as the octopus & turtle. The class of 20 kids were happily dancing and performing for their parents to mark the end of the speech & drama camp. Jamie was a little reserved when come to public performance but still she was bold and did some movement here and there. So cute!! Btw, she's one of the octopus.

Kinderart Trial Lesson
Morning brought Jamie to her school for an hour of trial session. We were allowed to sit in throughout the lesson. After a brief explanation on how to draw and color the ladybud using oil pastel, the children quickly sat themselves down and started doodling. Here's what Jamie did. Well done with 3 different colors selected as instructed by the art teacher.
Magical Moments Holiday Camp (25-30May)
As we will be collecting keys for our new house tmr, meaning, I will not have time to organise any school holiday programmes for Jamie, I have arranged alternative for her. This week, Jamie will be attending a 5 days English Speech & Drama Camp hosts by Magical Moments at the nearby CC. Here's what she did for the past 2 days.

Reluctant Dragon / Winds in the Willow
We will be catching 2 musical entertainments by Kenneth Grahame this coming Saturday! I'm very excited as this will be our 2nd time watching a play at a theatre! This time, Jamie's friend, Elisabeth and her mommy will be joining us :)
===============================================
"..The Reluctant Dragon is a story about friendship with people different from ourselves. Be ready for a stirring tale of friendship between a shepherd’s son and a gentle and poetic dragon, who is reluctant to fight and would love nothing better than to be accepted into society. While The Wind in the Willows is a cautionary tale about the dangers of materialism and what it means to be truly happy. These stories appeal to the young and the young at heart. Both stories deal with themes of multiculturalism, racial harmony, personal roots and a sense of home, and act as perfect educational lessons for the youth of today."

Meet the Parents Session
This is Jamie's close friend, Camelia. She was happily playing with Camelia while I'm busy queuing up to see her teachers. At the end of the session, I was very pleased with Jamie's achievement in school. Teachers complimented that she is one of the high achievers among the 120 over K1 students. One obvious improvement is that she is more vocal and participates more in class and group's discussion. A glance at her report, she's given "excellent" grades for majority of the assessments which makes up above 95% of the overall rating. When I asked her what she wanted as a reward, she eagerly replied with a smile, "I want to sleep with mama in aircon room!!" This is our Jamie... very contented with small things indeed.

More Work @ Home
Since the news of voluntary closure announced on MOH's website on Monday, Jamie has been staying home until today when she finally went back to school after getting an assurance from her form teacher that the school is fine now after an inspect done yesterday. So, since she's kept at home for 2 days, I gave her some work to do.

Let's Do Some Work!!
Monday, May 12, 2008
Underwater World Art & Craft
This is a voluntary work to be submitted by today to Jamie's school. Apparently this Thursday & Friday are "Meet the Parents" sessions whereby we will be seeing the teachers for assessment of our kid's performance in school. Alongside with this, we are also encourage to do up a parent-child craftwork for exhibition on this 2 days. Due to the complexity and last minute work, I ended up doing most of the craft myself while Jamie suggested ideas here and there.
HFMD Updates
A friend just informed me this morning that Jamie's school is listed on MOH's website as one of the voluntary closure kindergartens starting today! I couldn't believe my eyes as I swiftly browsed through the website. After confirming it, immediately I went to the school to inform her form teacher that Jamie shall stay at home till 20th May as suggested by MOH. What disappointed me is that the school will still be open for lessons since its not classified as "Mandatory Closure". Well, anyway, I think its only right that I should keep her away from the school for the next 10days.

Trimmed Again?
Ever since Jamie had her hair cut 3inch shorter than her usual shoulder length, her hair had been quite messy and unkept. I couldn't understand what went wrong wif her hairstyle till I brought her to the salon for a trim. I told the hairstylist that I want her hair to be "layered", that's it. Now she looks so much like herself & its nice too! Will take some nice pixs of her and upload here.

Mother's Day Gift
Jamie handed me the chocolate cookies and card at school gate today. Then, while still holding onto the carnation, she suddenly asked me to have it as "this is for you, mama!" I was quite surprised that the 2 cookies are for me as I thought its from her Jacob Ballas excursion today. Then Jamie said, mama, you have 1 and I have 1 ok? Hahhahahahaa!!
