Proper Handwriting

Jamie has been slacken in her handwriting. Be it English or Chinese. So I gave her a piece of my mind and then this morning, I revised chinese spelling wif her (left is testing her see if she knows or not. Right is after revision) which will be next Monday. And I am very pleased wif her handwriting this time so I gave her many kisses.

Last Activity B4 Bedtime

Promised them that they will have a painting session b4 retiring to bed. Nothing special except I was so surprised to find out that Jeremy knows that yellow & red becomes orange!!

Anxious Mummy

Not easy coaching him though he has improved alot since started school in January. But still I am glad that I've been doing some work wif him daily ever since this year. I am crossing my fingers that when he is in Nursery come next year January, he should be able to catch up with his peers (majority already turned 3 and some turning 4!) after his 3rd birthday in December.

Balloon Sculpture Workshop

I was told that this is a very good workshop so I signed up from my church the moment I received an email invitation. Being a timid when comes to balloon, I struggled almost throughout the 3hours hands-on workshop! But still, I've managed to take home my masterpieces. Above are sm of my fav :)

Jeremy 2nd School Excursion

I went along with Jeremy to Jacob Ballas @ Botanic Garden this morning from 945am - 1245pm. As you know today's weather is so humid and hot... and walking under the hot sun with Jeremy can be straining and tiring for me. But still that's okie as long as this little boy is happy at the end of the excursion.

Wink to Learn

Got this from a fren lately and I've been diligently showing it to both of them daily. Din expect anything out from them except hoping that some how they will benefit it eventually. As usual this morning, I turned it on for Jeremy to watch b4 heading to the school wif them. Halfway thru' he suddenly spoke to our helper in Mandarin " Qing2 Ni2 Bang1 Wo3 Na2 Shui3 Hu2" (Can you hold my water bottle for me, please?) , Wa! I was impressed !!

Got this CdRom from a mommy lately and I started it on Jamie weeks ago. Both of us have since enjoy playing wif it!!

Mid Autumn Festival

Since papa cannot join us for a celebration, we went to ah gong ah po's house for a time of celebration. After dinner, we took a walk at the playground then to Chinese Garden when we witnessed some fireworks around 830pm!! Sil checked and was told that the next fireworks at Chinese Garden will be next Sat, 830pm! Perhaps we should go wif papa if he is free...

Computer Game

As I was packing up stuff to move to new house, found this very old handheld computer game that was given by my godbrothers when I was in primary school. It was my 1st game set I got it from my hospital bed ... wasn't well 'fit' in my younger days, so this was given to console me.

Stomach Flu

Jamie is down with stomach flu after Jeremy had it on Monday. Mrs Melissa called me at 1pm said she vomitted 3x and that I should bring her home. Rushing back from new house, I quickly brought her to see a doctor. She is resting now, no more vomitting spells. Pray that she will have a speedy recovery by tmr. Meanwhile, back home, she wanted to do a sandart craftwork b4 nap. So I let her be.

Amazing Race

This is my #2 PV excursion. But this time, my 3hrs 45mins clocked at the end of the day, I can boldly say its my "hard earned" hours!! Imagine following the children running around the vicinity, with just a clue on hand, going from pit stops to another .. a total of 9! After 2hrs under the hot sun, we've completed 8 pit stops, racing back to school with the #1 champion title won!!! Yea, well done children!!

Chinese Spelling

Dun say I am Kiasu ok? I've "ruin" at least twice when I've missed coaching her chinese spelling last month remember? Anyway, its always better to be KS then sorry rite? Chinese spelling next Monday, btw.... gee...

Back to School

Finally all fun & late mornings wake up are over! Thank God for a wonderful week we had! Here's 2 parent-child craftwork to be submitted to school today.

Wall-e

Papa has promised the children for their 1st ever movie excursion on Saturday's night. The kids were all sooo excited about the "big tv" adventure & woke up shortly after their nap (guessed they were really looking fwd to it!). I myself had everything ready for this "big day" too. I cooked noodles for dinner, prepared homemade popcorn & soy milk before we all heading to the cinema!

Vivo City here we come!

Met up with Levine & Ivan for a short afternoon gathering. It's so nice to be able to meet up wif her for a short chit chating and kapo-ing, whahahhaahaa... Thanks for the dessert too! :D

What's Upz?

Wah, too many programmes for the kids till I can't remember what we did on yesterday! However we all had a wonderful time wif Wendy and her 2 kids, playing at the IMM outdoor newly renovated wet and dry playground. After cleaning up, Jamie did a simple craftwork wif Amanda at a booth before we adjourned to Wendy's place for lunch.

Curtains UP!

Just today.... we spent half our day at the new house, to unpack abit of stuff :) See the curtain? Finally ya!!

September School Holiday!!!

It's the start of 1 week holiday for the children and this week, I've stopped all packing n unpacking at the new house just to make sure I've all the time for the children!

My 1st Teacher's Day Gift!!

Received 2 wonderful gifts from church this morning. One came from a 3yo lil gal in my sunday school class. Now I can really feel the joy when you are being appreciated for your service.

1st Parent Volunteer Excursion to Hill Street Central Fire Station

This afternoon was my very first excursion as a parent volunteer at Shuqun Primary School. It's quite a breeze and I must say I have enjoyed myself very much. Down 3hours, hurray!

Happy Teacher's Day

This morning Jamie's school had a mini concert to celebrate teacher's day. It's a cold and drizzling day but the children had a lot of fun watching their favourite teachers performing on the stage! We did 3 heart shaped bookmark cards for her teachers. She indicated it has to be given to Mrs Melissa, Li Lao Shi and Mrs Tan. I supposed these are the teachers that are closest to her.

Kids' Room

Our sofa finally has arrived! While waiting there, I quickly finished up the wall decals that I have bought from wee gallery in the children's room. Nice!

Parent Volunteer Programme

Received a call this afternoon while I'm on my way to fetch Jeremy from school. It's from Shuqun Primary School asking me to go for interview as a parent volunteer! Kind of surprise cos I thought the application already closed and very unlikely I will have any chance (though I did emailed to query after the unsuccessful application at Rulang). The interview was swift and I was accepted on the spot! Ask me why I'm so excited afterall its not a very popular school. Hmm, well, ever heard of this hokkein saying, no fish prawn also can?? Hurray!

Today I finally sold off all the 4 bookshelves to 2 buyers!! Yippee!! And after moving 60% of the children's books, only then, I realised that's so many books that I have invested for them and we are soon running out of shelves in their new bedroom :o

A Pleasant Surprise

After seeing her progress report card abt 2wks ago, I'm uncertain or rather quite firm that she will probably not be given an award for this term. Just before I transferred her to this class abt 1.5mths ago, the teacher subtly told me that her class will be more competitive vs the previous class she was in. But when she gave a brief description of this child, mentioning that this child only joined in at the middle of the term, attended 6 lessons, in my heart, I still din know that it could be Jamie till her name was read out. Jamie, once again, proved to me that she does work very hard during lessons although she is playful & sometimes gets distracted in class. Praise God & all glory goes back to Him!

There goes ....

A fren just comfirmed that the PV application has already closed for the school that I thought we can try. Hmm, well, at this point, I can only pray that , "God let your will be done, amen!"

Plan B?

Received a call from a fren who told me that she wasn't chosen as a parent volunteer in the school that we also applied for. Immediately I called CQ to check on our status. As my sentiments told me that we may not get it, it turned out the way my sentiments has "predicted"

Question is, what's next?

So I quickly booted up the desktop and started reading up the other 2 schools that's nearest to us. Decision ? Well, I will be applying as a PV again to the other school that is further from our house. Pray that we will be successful. Whatever it is, I pray that this will be God's decision for our children. Whether it's gonna be the school that we hope they will be is no longer an issue to us.

Away from home

This is Jamie's #2 staying overnight at her Dagu's house. She's soooo excited about the whole thing. I'm glad that she is doing fine there without disturbing her grandparents at night.

SSO @ Singapore Botanic Garden

A close friend told me of this performance weeks ago and here we are this evening for an hour of live performance cum dinner picnic at the garden.

Sports Day

This is Jamie's 2nd time participated in her school's sport day. It's 830 to 113oam. It started with all K1 performing 2 pom pom dances as opening for the event. This year, Jamie's class did a relay and they came in 1st! The finale ended with singing few of the Singapore's fav "old time" songs to celebrate tomorrow's NDP!

Story Island Progress Report Level 2

It's time again for the 4 months once progress report card! I am pleasantly glad to find out that she actually extends her creative thinking skills during the chinese lessons. So the John Langrehr Thinking Program does helps. :) There'll be rooms for improvement and more drilling to converse in Mandarin too. Well done, Jamie!

Overlooked

Last month was really a mad rush for me. Blinks of eyes and its gone! And unknowingly, I have been missing revising with Jamie her chinese spelling till I found out yesterday that her spelling is on every Mondays (I thought its on Tuesday, same as her English spelling) ! Today she brought home the exercise book and as expected, I knew it. I felt a need to explain to her teacher so I wrote a short note. Though she got it all wrong, at least she managed to write what she vaguely remembered. And she told me must write something on it even if cannot remember anything, cannot leave any blank. What a courageous girl at such tender age!

Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!

Jamie drew this card for her friend who just had her 5th birthday party last Saturday. They all had lotsa fun enjoying watching the magic show.

Kinderart Artwork

This is Jamie's 1st take home completed artwork from Kinderart at her school. She has been attending an hour of extended art n craft lessons after school on every Wednesdays and she loves it so far! This is how she drew and colored the tree with lines on its trunk and thick branches, the 2 colors sunset too. Interesting right?

Jamie's School Cake

This cake was customised by ecreative. I saw this picture from the internet and thought it might be nice to have such cake for her since I couldn't find a suitable star theme cake at all the major cake shops here. It looks simple and plain yet I think its gorgeous too, isn't it?
