Touch Community Services Flag Day

We were assigned 10am - 12noon slot at JE Interchange. It was rather fun in the sense... cos this time round, we are volunteering out with Jamie! Yup! she's so funny ... holding the stacks of stickers and tin... but at the end of it, I'm rather exhausted mainly becos of the humid and hot weather!!

Fried Rice Paradise

I was very much inspired after reading this fried rice receipe from Motherhood magazine late last night. So I decided to try it out for lunch. And I was completely satisfied when Jamie ate it up happily !! Yippee!!! PS : Couldn't insert fried rice photo here ... keep having problems & all the alignments seem haywired... what's wrong ?? .. did anybody out there also having problems submitting photos to your blogs ?
** Finally after serveral days... now (7 Oct) I can submit photos and do alignment adjustments at my blog!!! Yippee!!! **

Splash, Splash

Daryl SMSed me earlier on, asking me out for a swim at Aster's new "nest" .. a condo along CCK. Knowing Jamie loves to swim though we have not been bringing her out for a swim since long time ago. After much consideration (actually feeling quite lethargic + I din have a proper maternity swimwear), I decided to bring Jamie out around 615pm. The 50mins dip was simply great! Initially Jamie seemed to shiver pretty much but after few mins, she started to enjoy sitting around the edge of the pool and of course, sliding down the slide in the middle of the children's pool! Mmm.. we shall come back in few weeks for sure!!

No More Porridge

Can't recall exactly which day I have FINALLY decided to let Jamie go without porridge... yes rice for dinner!! It just started so naturally when one fine day, as usual, I went over to see what fil cooks for dinner and found that the rice seemed soft and decided that it's time I should let Jamie to try it out.
Yup I have finally found the "right time" to let her teeth chew on rice instead of soft meshy porridge. And thank God Jamie managed to swallow it pretty well. Hence my Plan A continues for the next few days... and it works !!! Hurray !!!
Now I can comfortably just bring her out without having to rush home to cook her porridge. The so-called secret to my litttle success is this.... just make sure her dinner starts after her last milk feed before her nap, ie 3-4hours later. Sigh, should have realised this much earlier... anyway, I am glad that at least I need not have to worry about her meals when the baby arrives in Dec!

Being Fair ?

Went for gynae routine checkup yesterday. Was quite disappointed to know that baby's still hovering around 40th percentile despite me drinking at least 2-3 glasses of Enfamama daily. Well, not that I'm kiasu but guess I'm already so used to Jamie's "pince-able" face and when told that our son will be slightly smaller than his jie-jie, my reaction was almost instinct ... "hah...." Nevermind I shall continue to drink more milk, eat eggs and stop drinking tea. (though I only dipped the teabag for few secs before discarding it away)
Anyway, I was telling CQ that our son should get his newborn picture taken by a professional photography in the hospital just as Jamie did hers. Cos I don't wanna get into a difficult situation when one day, our son questions us why jie-jie had it and he didn't ? Haiz... soon we will have to play fair in our treatment towards our kids...

This is the way I brush my teeth....

Ever since Jamie turned 2, I feel that we should "upgrade" her from brushing her teeth in the kitchen to the "rightful" place , ie the bathroom/toilet. After searching for months for a suitable mirror, I finally found one at IMM, Giant. Cheap and reliable, 3M, for less than two bucks!! :D

Elmo on Potty

A fren got this gadget for me, hoping that soon Jamie will be like her son, able to pee in the potty. Well, let's see how but for the meanwhile, she's enjoying feeding Elmo (Elmo will ask for a drink and when he is being put on his potty, Elmo will hum his fav song and cheer when he is able to pee into the potty) and helping him to the potty.

Mid Autumn Festival with Cell Group

HC decided not to have our usual 2hrs+ cell meeting tonight but to celebrate the festival at the park downstairs (as usual la..).
I din really have the chance to mingle around with the ladies as Jamie was "addicted" to the slide at the nearby playground. Weather was good and oh yes, the mooncakes of course!!

Chinese Garden ~ Lantern Safari

This is my 2nd trip here after last week with Ron family and mil as it rained shortly after a 40mins walk. This round we managed to walk for almost an hour and half before ending our night. Ang guess who we bumped into ? Merv, Jane, their kids and Merv's mum !! What a surprised!

Kiddy Palace 30% Storewide

A friend has just informed me that Kiddy Palace at Jurong Point is currently having its storewide pre-renovation sales! All items except Nett and Fixed Price, are going for less 30% discount !! So off I went early this morning with Jamie :D For those mums who are looking for Sesame Street, Barney, Fisher Price toys etc for their kids, hurry now cos the store looks more empty this morning.
While I managed to get a handheld, travel sized Doodle Pro magnetic board for Jamie, I'm also very glad that I managed to get a 100% UV protection sunglasses for her at less than $10! She just looks so cool in the pinky sunglass! Perhaps I should go back again these few days to see if there's anything else that I may have missed out....

Jurong Lake Park

We tagged along with Ron's kids and WJ to have breakfast at Macdonald's after which we proceeded to the new Taman Jurong Lake Park near our house. It was a huge recreational park where one can find an enormous children's playground as well as jogging tracks along the park.

Reading is Fun

Realised that Jamie has slowly grown to love to read books. Tonight she's picking up a new set of Chinese book to read. I'm not sure if this will be her lifelong hobby or not but for now, I will try my best to read with her whenever I can.

Lantern Safari

Being generous, as always, Sil WJ bought some discounted tickets* from her coy so that we can enjoy a night out activity. Together with Mil, Bil & his family, we walked to Chinese Garden for about half an hour before reaching our destination.
CQ was having a wedding shoot tonight hence he couldn't join us on time (anyway it started to drizzle and so we left shortly after about 40mins at the Chinese Garden).
We will be revisiting again the next round. This time, only 3 of us.
* Normal Rates : $9 per adult during Mon-Thurs. $13 per adult from Fri-Sun. Children above 3, $5 per entry

Contractor

The HDB appointed contractor supposed to come at 10am to get our windows retrofitted but we are still waiting and its approaching noon.
I hate contractors. They mess up your house and worst of all, after hours of repair works, we are left to clean up the mess. Finally they are here !!!

Stepping into 6 mois

CQ took such similar photo of my curvy tummy when I was expecting Jamie some 2years ago. So we thought we should also take another one. It was kind of strange feeling when taking this picture, can't explain why but I guess I'm more "prepared" this time round for my 2nd pregnancy. Of course I'm not as excited as before though I'm expecting a son this time round.

Family Time Out

Early this week, I felt a strong urge to bring Jamie to the beach with CQ this Sunday morning (which is today!) . Thank God for the "not-so-hot" weather when we reached Sentosa almost around 10am. Both of us had our homemade sandwiches and Milo at the beach before we spent some time digging and building sand castles with Jamie. I noticed that Jamie was rather silent when she initially came in contact with the sand which I believed she probably hasn't "warm up" yet. Then when she was brought to the sea, she was quite hesitant to stay in the water. This experience was so different when she was at the swimming pool. She enjoyed much more at the pool, in liberty I mean....
Though we merely spent an hour or slightly more at the beach, it was great just spending some time as a family, enjoying each other company.

Superstar

IF only I know the results earlier, if only (then I won't be wasting my time away every Wed & Thurs night) ... though in my heart, I truly hope that Kelly would be given the Superstar title, but the fact is, I also knew that Kelvin will be the ultimate winner the moments Jun Yang lost. Don't ask me why.... its a matter of fact.
Who has the strongest voice control? Who has the better headvoice ?? Who can entertain the audience with her glamorous outfit and hairdo ? Who is more consistant in her performances over the months?
** Btw, I am not a supporter of any of the Superstars. **

Our Baseball Darling

Jamie loves to wear her papa's hat the unusual way. Oh boy! She's so cool!! That's set me wonder if her little brother will look like her ??

Now that I'm back blogging, suddenly I realised that I have lotsa things to share here... of course and some ultrasound scans photos of our baby too! Well, CQ also took some artistic pixs of my preggy tummy :D
