Chingay Parade

This week's special.
All the trees along my estate's main road were brightly decorated. I was very thrilled right in the beginning of the week! There were road blocks and one can easily identify the policemen and guards here. In fact it was a 3hrs+ long Chingay programme tonight! Yup! What was performed weeks earlier at downtown can be seen right here at our heartland !
Chunquan was home around 5pm after a long hours of wedding shoot. After he had a short nap, we took Jamie down, awaiting for the parade to commence.
As expected, it was simply too crowded that we couldn't really see anything except trying to cut through our way to the main road to catch a glimpse of the performers. After an hour into the performance, I decided to catch a helicopter view from home.. hence we left Chunquan continued to snap some photos.

Hospital Visit

Just came back from a hospital vistation. Yes Hsiu Chin just gave birth to a healthy little Esther late last night.
Looking at baby Esther just flashed back fond memories of those days when Jamie was born. Those were the days when we held her fragile warm body, holding her tiny little hands and enjoying quiet moments when she sleeps. Time really flies!

Late Nights

Jamie has been going to bed passed midnight for the pass 4 days. Tue & Wed at Church, Thurs at Maggie's dad's funeral wake and tonight from Church after late night supper at Pasir Panjang with Daryl, Meilian & Iris.
I'm very certain that she has enjoyed herself alot outside with all the aunties and I'm so amazed by her full burst of energy as not even a sign of tiredness was shown even back home!!

Santification Week

Tonight am bringing Jamie to Church for our following days of Santification Week's program.
Though not expecting anything out of it as a matter of fact that my attention span is also shared with Jamie. But my heart still yearns to go and hear from God. Let God speaks to me...

Should I??

It's getting late and I should retire to bed but I aint yet. There's alot of stuff on my mind... my parents, my godmum, about in-laws, friends .... my life, Chunquan's and Jamie....
Just now was another battle I had with Jamie. She just not dozing off to bed for almost 2hrs!! And me being with her, from being awake to dozing off into The Wonderland, the remaining hour was a full wakeful tiny weeny brain thinking and pondering over life and issues. There's simply too many thoughts running wild right through and am not sure now what I should say?? I think I shall go to bed before I start to utter nonsensical stuff here.....

Our First Attempt

Have never thought of letting Jamie feeds herself. Its just me... yup my problem or rather my mental block.. thinking that she will sure to make a whole lot of mess and probably be wasting part of the food rather than eating all up?!!
But yearning to train her (just like potty training) to self feed has always been my agenda long long time ago. So today, without much hesitation, I simply placed the bowl of cereal in front of her and helping her to scoop bit by bit into her tiny little mouth. Yea I finally overcome it!!! Of course she stumbled alot but its alright and ultimately I succeeded by encouraging and helping her to finish up her lunch. Give me 5 man!!!

Quiet Moments

Jamie loves to read though I seldom really spend enough time sitting down with her to read. This morning, while I busy preparing my breakfast, I suddenly remembered her stacks of board books... so there she is... busy flipping and blabbing to herself.

In fact few months ago, I was quite obsessed with board books (and I still am!) that I bought quite a handy for her which probably will occupy the entire 2-3 tier children bookshelf ! Now I am busy with sourcing for a suitable bookshelf for her!!

Surprised Guest

It's almost a year since Ivan & Boon Yuen's visited us. It has been real nice to see this couple again. And thanks to Boon Yuen who has graciously cooked some delicious food over for dinner. And time really flies and Jamie already grown so much since the previous year when they were here, she was barely about 7mths old!

Jamie has been obsessed with the moon for the past few weeks. Every now and then she will sure to pester someone to carry her to the window in search for it !

WET LOOK!!

Seldom take Jamie's after bathing "wet look" ...so today Chunquan decided to pick up his fav gadget again. And I think its nicely captured.

Happy Valentine's Day

This year V Day was unusual cos its on the 5th day of CNY! So for sure I wasn't prepared for this day and I din expect any gift from Chunquan as well.
No homecooked dinner for him nor did I buy any gift. Just a simple kiss to greet each other morning. At night, after Jamie has gone to bed, we both decided to spend some time together catching a movie (Ocean 12). And just before the movie started, I accidentally saw small part of the teddy bear bouquet hidding under his pillow!! Haha...thats the careless part of him but of course I acted as if I din see it.
I tried not to laugh but my cheeky smile gave way....he probably knew I saw it. So halfway through, he handed me the bouquet! Not bad huh...he is still as romantic as he used to be. :D

Dinner at Yunnan Garden Restaurant

Tonight we had a sumptuous dinner at Yunnan Garden restaurant with FIL & MIL's relatives. As usual, with Jamie around at the dining table, we will have to take turns eating and entertaining her. Good thing halfway through, the kids gathered around to play with her which gave us a little more privacy to finish up the food! And thanks to SIL who took the effort to introduce the relatives to me as I was quite confused over who is who.

Visitation

Was planning to visit Godmum today but Virn Ping SMSed me the day earlier saying that they will come over instead. Without much hesitation, I agreed.
Kind of regretted becos by right we should go over to Godmum's house for CNY visitation. Then end up, they came. So weird!

Gong Xi Fa Cai

We were the first family to greet my parents on 1st day of CNY. While Jamie has the chance to wear her 1st CNY dress, I decided to doll her up like a oriental looking girl (no clips or hairband) since its once in a year and probably next year she won't be able to wear this dress anymore.

Reunion Dinner with in-laws

SIL did all the cooking this year. Age has catch up with FIL and he has come to recognise that he does not have the physical strength and energy to do all the cooking like he used to do it years back. Strangely I begin to somewhat miss his cooking style though SIL did a very good job tonight. This year's a much mellow one...though few dishes but all of them taste fantastic, well done SIL! These few days, Jamie had been staying awake till in the wee hours, refusing to go to bed till I have to switch off all the lights in the house and keep explaining to her that it's getting very late and we all need to rest.
Thank God she slept shortly...

Reunion Dinner

I know its a bit early but as usual, we normally have our reunion dinner over the weekend, a week earlier, so that the 3 of us (and my 2 elder sis) can have our reunion dinner with our in-laws on the actual day.
We arrived nearly at 7pm cos church service was a bit lengthy thought we left halfway through the service. Though we are the last to arrived, the kids just started having their dinner first, before the adults. So I quickly took out Jamie's porridge and fed her.
As usual, my mum will prepare alot of sumptuous drooling dishes (too bad everybody was busy eating so... no pix taken) on reunion dinner. This year is a bit different. Everyone was given a bowl of sharkfin cum crab meat soup as a appettiser. Strangely after having a full bowl of that, my stomach seemed to be "well satisfied" and in the end, I only managed to have few pieces of abalonce, some toufu, prawns and half bowl of rice. Din managed to have a taste of all the dishes on the table. But that's alright. Everyone was present and this year, we had cousin Cecelia to be with us!
And Jamie had alot of fun playing in her gong gong's little room. She just loves to hover around in the small crampy room. And of course her favourite item, gong gong's chair!

Weird Sleeping Style

This afternoon while Jamie was sleeping... Chunquan took a peek at his dd and without delay, took this picture !

Fav Bear

As usual Jamie loves to flip, giggles and babbling over whenever she reads. But this moring, she suddenly got up and walked to her room. I was very very puzzled and curious but didn't want to interrupt, I waited eagerly for her to return ..... Guess what?? She took out her fav bear and sat down again. Then I found out that the book has this little boy hugging a bear too. That was something which I never thought she would do it.

Once in a blue moon

As I'm writing this I am really exhausted after a 3hrs "battle" I had with Jamie since around 1045pm. Tonight was one of her "once in a blue moon" refusal to sleep or drink. As I am real determined not to hug her till she dozed off, I gently placed her back in her cot when she's about to enter into her dreamland. But this time, she started to make a fuss almost immediately when I left her room! Closed behind our bedroom door, I tried to ignored the long wailing with occasional paused. After some 10mins, the cries continued. Thought she may be hungry for another milk feed, I dragged myself off the bed. Only sucking for perhaps few seconds, she pushed the bottle away, a usual indication that she's ain't wanting to finish her milk. With much frustration and stubborness, I insisted that she should drinks some more. Being a compliance child, she drank few sucks to apeased me. 10mins passed and Jamie almost dozed off on my chest. Again, trying to put her back before she enters dreamland.... arggghhh... here's she goes again!! This time round, with door shut, I waited for something to happen as I knew she might vomit. True enough she did!

So we spent some 1/2hr of cleaning and washing up before coaxing her to bed for the one last time.

It's 1:45am and here she did it again!! As I continue writing this, Jamie is now standng in her cot crying. Now I'm really suspecting she might have some bad dreams perhaps. Hence the refusal to sleep alone as she has not problem doing that since birth. I shall wait till the cries subside before creeping back to bed.

**Phew!! Jamie fell back to bed after about 5mins of standing with occasional weak cries. Finally I can sleep in peace**
