Blessed Anniversary

Today marked our 七 年 之 痒 !!! Strangely I did not feel that we are that "old husband old wife" though 7 years can be such a long journey for some. I'm contented to have this family, CQ and Jamie, to make my life "complete". But most of all, thank God for His blessings all this while. The road may not be smooth and fast sailing at times but putting our trust in Him shall see us through all in all!! We went for a short retail therapy at Bugis Seiyu and I am so happy that I managed to buy 3 sets of clothes (tee & shorts) for Jamie for just $35!! And behind my mind, I was already comtemplating of selling it off once Jamie outgrows it :D Jamie had her afternoon at my parents' place before we both sneaked out to Takashimaya for our retail therapy again :)) my shades from CQ! Isn't it nice? Our new Tiger 3.0 Litre auto dispensed airpot
This is best lobang so far! UP S$229 / Offer S$139 and after offset $80 Takashimaya vouchers, we only forked out $59 !! Yippee!!! Initially we had planned to have our dinner without Jamie since my mum (I supposed) can babysit her for an hour and half when Jamie wakes up around 6pm.... but then... things dun work out the way it is ! My mum called and I could hear Jamie sobbing. Being the worrying parents (as usual), we went back to fetch her and headed to the French Stall near Little India. Managed to finished up the dinner with much effort in singing and playing with Jamie. I would say I enjoyed my fillet and the whipped potatoes while CQ dun really think so although he had his cup of house pour red wine. But one thing for sure, the mussel sucks and lousy ambience (no aircon, no music, aunties waitresses and worst of all, the noisy vehicles passing by)!!! Beef steak with cooked potatoes for CQ

here's my yummy fillet with whipped potatoes

The french stall

We ended the night at Bugis Junction, strolling among the crowds while Jamie was so happy & excited to see the huge outdoor fountain. And the moment we put her down to walk, she just dashed out running & dancing in circles !! That's our daughter.....

Birthday Card for Papa

This bday card was handmade by both of us for CQ last night. Though he came home late but Jamie was good to stay till her papa came home (almost 11pm!) to wish him "Happy Birthday" & present mama's bday present to him.
Hours before, I brought Jamie to the nearby hawker center to "ta-bao" black pepper crabs, kang-kong and tou-fu to celebrate over dinner. The moment Jamie was put to bed, we started our dinner cum supper till midnight.

Independence Day = CQ's Bday

Brought Jamie to JP after her lunch and decided to do some "serious" shopping. Yes, I couldn't find anything good on the website, hence decided to head down to the retailers for help instead! Well, I just wanted to get something that's practical for CQ. While waiting for Daryl, I decided to head down to the Pizza Hut for a quick bfast cum lunch. I manged to finish up my plate of pasta, soup and Pepsi while Jamie happily self-entertained by the flip menu & her biscuits !

And I must confessed that bringing Jamie out nowadays has become a challenge and tiring trip for me. Not becos I'm preggy but plainly becos she's just acting up like a jail bird, the moment she's out of house, she will "flee" as fast as possible! And she doesn't like me to hold her hands. She also loves to walk through and under those boutiques' clothing that hang loosely on the hanger. So when I do my shopping, my eyes gotta keep a lookout for her. She can "disappear" within seconds and then the next minute, appearing in front of me, grinning. Sigh....

One moment she's seems to be enjoying the music ...

But shortly, I heard Jamie shouted "loud music!"

So we are going to have a .....

...SON! Yippee!!! But both of us dun seem to be as excited as what others think. Or rather relatives and friends are more excited than us! Perhaps becos we already "knew" it when bb was 12weeks old. Just that our Gynae couldn't be very sure of. And with all the symptoms that I'm going through, many friends did commented that we will most likely be having a son. So, now, what's next huh?? Yes, it's the headache time for naming our son... but I still can't imagine going to have a son....

I'm turning 23 Months Today!!

Yep! Jamie's 23 months old today! That's fast. Last year she was just a young toddler who barely took her first step. Time really passed!
Good thing we've captured quite a fair bit of her early years photos. These will become precious memory for us to smile at. And the last time we developed her photos was when she's 6mths old. So there's alot more for me to pick and edit before sending out to develop so that we can show it to the family during her 2nd birthday party !!
Yes, it will be held sometime around end of next month. We have decided to hold her birthday bash at Lisa's place. Though its far from our house but its much easier for us to prepare since there'll be a BBQ pit there and the kids can swim and enjoy themselves while the adults can mingle around the pool area.

The Wedding Bells

We attended a close friend's church wedding early this morning at 10am. CQ was helping out in videography so he went out early before us to capture those important moments of their lives while Daryl came over to fetch us to church. The last church wedding (of our church members) that we have attended was Ivan's wedding back in 2001! Oh boy!! That's 4years ago! Jamie had a wonderful time at the church. What else? Of course playing with her friends and busy running about. While I had some time off to eat at the buffet table while CQ's taking his break :D

Baby 1st Trimester Scan

Wanted to blog this but have not been logging on lately. Perhaps due to the lethargy since the day I'm pregnant I think. So nowadays I have been reporting past events that are sometimes passed 2weeks !!
Anyway, went for my 1st trimester scan as requested by my gynae.
I went alone after settling Jamie for her afternoon nap at my parents' place. Thought it will be a short one so I asked CQ not to acompany me. Moreover the timeslot allocated to me was 3:30pm. (prior that I came with Jamie for my blood test at 9am)
Waited for almost 2hrs (arrived an hour early) and finally it was my turn. The first thing I was asked was if my husband came with me. I was quite puzzled as I thought its just a scan, why need husband around?
It was till after the scan then I realised the important of husband's company.
Before the scan, the gynae (not my own gynae) took at least 10-15mins to explain to me the probability of getting a Down Syndrome child as relation to the mother's age. After which, he carefully scanned through the baby's every details mainly the spine, neck and eyes, face area. I suppose these are the important signs of having a Down Syndrome child.
It was a long-long scan. At least half an hour. The usual ultrasound scan only takes a mere 2-3mins the most. So can imagine, me admiring the baby every movement for so long!!
Surprisingly the report came out instantly on the spot after the scan. With the blood test and the scan, the gyane has given a above 95% of us conceiving a normal healthy baby. Praise the Lord!!

Drum

I bought this little drum from a top shop near our house to add-on to Jamie's musical toys. So every now and then she will put the string around her neck and goes around the house "drum-drum-drum" ...

Beauty of the Petals

Was browsing thru some pixs from my laptop and found these 4 pixs taken by CQ some time ago. Isn't it beautiful?

Home-Made Dessert

It has never cross my mind that I should keep a record of the food & desserts that I attempted although its not as appealing as what it should be. Here's what I did this afternoon while Jamie is sleeping. The only ingredient lacking is the coconut milk which I lately found out that it contains high cholesterol which is unhealthy for my in-laws to consume. For my 1st attempt, I'm thankful that at least I got a compliment from my mil who ate 2 bowls!! (this is her fav dessert)

______________________________________________________ Just before Jamie's bedtime, I decided to take my bathe while both of them had some quiet moments together, catching Jamie's fav hi-5!

Little Princess

CQ came home and immediately went to his room and took out his camera again... He said Jamie's face was exceptionally cute tonight so he wanted to take some short snaps of her..... hellos papa.... ah............... chew!!!!!!

Little Tikes Table & Chairs

I finally settled for this 2nd hand table and chairs set at $65. What I like about this table is that it comes with 2 pull out drawers whereby I can store Jamie's crayons and markers there. The ex-owner even took the effort to protect the table top with a layer of plastic wrapper. What a good buy!!

爸 爸 和 我

While I was shopping for some groceries to store up for the coming week at the nearby wet market, both Jamie and CQ were having some time and fun alone at home. As usual, he picked up his camera and snapped.... I was very thankful that these precious pictures of our darling were so beautifully captured.

WAHM ??

I have been contemplating of setting up my own e-store on the web but have been struggling with the web design as well as available web space at frenzatwork.com for me.
Been talking to CQ about "loaning" out the space to me as I really hope to start off doing a e-store since I have been sourcing and selling kidswear some 2 years ago. This will be a challenge to me as well as a business opportunity to venture out in near future (if successful).
Have not decide on the name of my e-store but it will be something like this... LittLeOnes Wardrobe or LittLePrecious or perhaps BundleOfJoy? ? ?

Virus Bugs at Home

CQ fell ill since early this week (had been coughing on and off for past weeks) and he finally went to see a doctor. On MC today. Hope he will recover soon as he has so many video backlogs to clear lately + a wedding assignments over this weekends.
Hopefully we will not get the virus especially Jamie.

2nd Visit

This morning I woke up feeling that I wanted to see a gynae. Partly becos I have just finished my supplements. Secondly CQ works till 8pm this week and hence he won't be able to accompany me to see this male gynae near our place, only after 5:30pm as the clinic only opens at night. So we went back to my previous gynae (being KS, we have in fact pre-booked an appointment a month's ago) I wasn't so much into anticipating for the ultrasound scan. I suppose when you already have a child, probably you will be more preoccupied with her first, her daily needs. Anyway, I met CQ at the clinic during his lunch break. Gynae was so happy to see Jamie after so long ! She's probably more excited to see Jamie than doing for my checkout. However when the scan started, I was equally surprised that for the first time, she was giggling and laughing away, after seeing our baby movements!! In fact, both of us are also surprised at the baby's constant movements. We can clearly see the baby rubbing face, kicking, and moving!! So unlike of Jamie...as she wasn't moving so much. Too bad I forgotten to bring along a VHS tape to record it down :(

baby at 11weeks old. Now the EDD is : 18 Dec 2005

Practical Life - Scooping Skills

This is another Montessori gadget that I bought recently. No regret!!

Practical Life

I finally pick up my "xian-ness" and started to teach Jamie some of the practical life exercises at home. This is one of the task that Jamie needs to complete, ie, to pour the jug of green beans, first, into the left cup then the remaining into the right cup. Yes, I am trying to use the Montessori way of homeschooling Jamie while I can. This also one of the exercises that Montessori schools use to teach young toddlers for pre-writing.

Here I'm teaching Jamie to do some threading... I'm kind of amazed for her level of concentration !

Gift from Papa

CQ was away for 2 days at KL to do a corporate video shoot. And this is what he bought for Jamie... of course she has a lot of fun playing and showing off her new hairband in front of our mirror!! Vain pot!

________________________________________________ Jamie new found angle of looking at things ...

Make a guess. What is Jamie so engrossed with??

Ta-da!!! She simply loves to read. At least for now...

我 会 读

After much hesitation, I finally bought the 1st series of "我 会 读" (12books in total) which suppose to teach young toddlers to recognise chinese words rather than listening. So I will try to read to Jamie on daily basis by simply reading the words page after page. And after several rounds of reading to her, she can now recognise most of the family names like 爸爸 , 妈妈 , 哥哥, 姐姐 etc

Frens' Gathering

After months of co-ordination work (thanks to Peiling!!), we finally meet up again. This time at my place.
It's always good to catch up with one another to find out how's our life been and we are always running out of time to chat especially with the two active toddlers around! Soon... baby Shiqin will be joining the 2 to make 3!!! Arggh!!

Feng Shui Yu

This is my fil's fav fish.
As far as I can recall, this fish probably is at least 8years old. It was a tiny little fish when I first visited.
You may not know something about this fish. It has a few "near death" episodes which nearly caused its life but was sort of revived by merely consuming some tea leaves known as "Ku Ting Cha" bought from China, Hainan by fil.
And I've been teaching Jamie about Opposite words lately. Hence I use this fish as an example since there's a small fish in this tank (which is not seen in this pix....too tiny!) which I used them to differentiate "big" & "small".

Meet the future In-Laws

Together with my in-laws family & my sil's future in-laws, we had our dinner at a Thai restaurant near our house. Purpose of this dinner is to meet the parents of both sides to discuss over the dowry and stuff like that (though we din know exactly what's been discussed as we were sitting at the next with Ron & his family.
Yup!! Finally my younger sil is tying the knob this Oct, 29. Mmm... I will be almost 8mths preggy by then. furthest right is sil's future in-laws

Storage Boxes

We bought 6 such IKEA stackable storage boxes during sales 1 1/2 years ago. Soon I felt regretted though they may look nice and neat from afar but a closer look, the toys inside are in real mess state!! Imagine, every day, I gotta carry down the boxes so that Jamie can reach to the toys inside. Not only that, she has problem looking for the specified toy that she wants. So frustration set in and worst, slowly... she lost interest in playing the toys. Old Ikea storage boxes See the difference??? I will probably label the boxes so that she will learn to put things back in the correct boxes. This will take time but isn't it a better solution? At least neater and more organised. And the boxes are small & light weight hence easier for them to take out themselves ! new storage boxes

Bloatedness, Indigestion & Burp

These are the symptoms that I'm experiencing daily, now that I'm expecting.
It's a whole lot of different experience now vs the previous round. When I was expecting Jamie, everything's a smooth sailing. No morning sickness, no sudden outbreak of appetite except for tiredness during the 1st trimester. I ate whatever I wanted to. I was as active as before.
This time, I only have appetite for soupy stuff. Hated rice. For the past 3 weeks, every single day, I struggle with food! What should I eat, when should I eat and the amount I should eat to avoid indigestion and bloatedness which is such a terrible feeling to bear!!! My taste buds seem to change. And I'm losing weight already!!!
Another strange thing is, I don't feel as much tired as expecting moms are in their 1st trimester. I seldom take naps except nowadays that I go to bed earlier.
Changes are inevitable. Just hope that I will get better when I'm in 2nd trimester.
** That's explained why I have not been blogging lately.... laziness has taken its priority in me ......**

...... 26 April 2005

Few days after we came back from Perth... I felt sort of worry as my period is exceptionally late this time. Usually around 1 1/2mths but this time its almost 2months late.
So I asked CQ to buy a test kit (though in my mind I thought it will be negative results since I last tested a week b4 our trip).
It was 8pm. Results was out shortly. It's not exactly a positive ... just that the line was very faint. In any case, I wanted to see a Gynae, just in case, if its not, then what's wrong with me for the much delayed?
Tried to book appt with my previous Gynae but she was on leave till 4th May. We couldn't tarry longer so an appt with fixed with another Gynae at TMC three days later.
29 April 2005 (Friday) : 11.45am
I wasn't nervous nor am I excited. This time was kind of different when I'm expecting Jamie.
An internal scan was done and confirmed that I'm expecting No.2 ! EDD Christmas Eve !!
What a relief ! So my w*** is perfectly normal
We left the clinic... as usual... not much excitment stirred.
