Jamie BBQ Bday Party

Today is the intended birthday party that I have been planning since weeks ago. Was afraid that we might not have enough food for the 21 invited guest + 6 kids. Thank God it was more than sufficient!! Also thank God for the wonderful weather in the evening after some rain during the day. I have specially ordered an Elmo cake for Jamie since it was Barney during her 1st bday. It was a kind of relaxed and casual party and thanks to my 2 wonderful sisters & brothers-in-law for their great help during the party while we were able to mingle around with our relatives and friends. The party finally ended around 10pm. Oh boy! We were so exhausted!! I'm sure Jamie was too as she fell almost into deep sleep barely in less than a minute :D

I love this pix but a pity its not taken sharply

Caterpillar @ 2 weeks Old

Honestly speaking, the caterpilla looks more awful as it grows bigger. I begin to feel "yucks!" instead of "wow!"

Happy 2nd Birthday, Jamie

Here's how we celebrated Jamie's birthday as a family at Swensen restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised to received a free firehouse ice cream after knowing that we are buying a slice of ice cream cake to celebrate for Jamie after dinning there. Jamie was very thrilled to see the "fire" on the candle on both the ice cream and the firehouse ice cream (pix nt taken)! It was tough getting her a birthday present ... but we managed to settle for the mini book fun & play electronic toy.
There'll be another bigger celebration affair for Jamie at my sis house. She will probably be excited to see her favourite Elmo cake and number "2" candle on it!!

Magazine Cover

I have been going to bed into the wee hours since days ago. Been working hard even during the day when Jamie naps where I can have a good short rest instead. This is a last min project. I'm trying to build a photo album/s of Jamie from birth. Someone says that stress do push a person's to work triple harder. I can't disagree further....
Since we have not been developing all the digital photos of her since 1 1/2year ago, it took me painstaking effort to sort, edit and design. That's explain why I'm beginning to feel the lack of sleep + deeper dark eye circle :( But after seeing all my artworks, its truly worth it and I'm sure Jamie will appreciate what her mom has done for her when she grows up. Guess how many photos I have sorted out to develop ?
Almost 450!!! (entire album will have more than 650 photos in all) And this still exclude our recent overseas trip to Perth ! It's way too much and I don't think I can handle...

Synthetic Supplements ??

Can someone pls enlighten me if it's good to consume those over the counters supplements that we can find it easily at any retail outlets ?
Well, I was shocked to know that most of these supplements are generally synthetic processed and are bad for our health! Meaning, we are putting up some degree of stress on our dear liver to work on the supplements. Correct me if I'm wrong.
So now, I'm exploring into consuming "organically grown supplements" instead. Mmm... getting more health conscious or freaking KS huh ??

1 Week Old

Look how big our caterpillar has grown into!! I am so excited to see its development and really looking forward to see it changing into a beautiful butterfly.

Art & Craft

It's time to let Jamie exercise her creativity juice and so I bought a small trial painting set to start the ball rolling. She was full of curiousity and yet excited to touch and feel the paint. Luckily she was able to listen and follow through the 10-15mins painting exercise. Surely she'll be looking forward for the next painting session!

Vanity @ Work

We have noticed that Jamie has grown to be more vain especially the inclination to doll up herself! Having said so, I also love to buy all sorts of hairclips. And this hairband has just added into the piles of Jamie's vanity collection. One of the things that she likes to do is to "admiring" herself in front of the mirror. And everytime when she runs towards our wardrobe, I will have to go after her since she is incapable to open the full length door (where the mirror is). So becos of that, I will be getting a children sized dressing table to be placed in her bedroom.

Exactly 1 year ago....

As I was looking through Jamie's past photos (to develp out onto hardcopies), I found this pix rather cute! She's such a baby! Gee.. how fast time has passed !!!

Powerpuff Girl

Got this from Sue too! Thinking for Jamie to play during the party... but couldn't resist trying it now. Wow!!! It's spinning!

Goodie Bags

It was so sweet of my fren to deliver Jamie's party goodies bags to my doorstep (thanks to her hubby too!) this afternoon. Great price! Thanks Sue! These are part of the stuff to be added in the goodies bags....

My New Drinking Bottle

We finally bought a new bottle for Jamie after using the old one for months. Jamie was given the "privilege" to choose her favourite cartoon character. And with much hesitation to choose between Winnie the Pooh & Elmo, she finally settled for the first one.

Something New......

Was heading to in laws house after doing some marketing at NTUC.. and I bumped into a neigbour and her 4 children along the corridor. I was pretty curious at their intense staring into a pot of plant. So being KS and out of courtesy, I greeted the mother. She was telling me her successful story of rearing caterpillas and how excited her children are when it turn into a beautiful butterfly. The mother was very proud and so excited that she kept asking me to keep a tiny weeny caterpilla to try it out myself!! With much obligation, I accept the "pet" ... Hopefully Jamie will be able to witness the lifecycle of the butterfly soon. Caterpilla @ 1 day old. It has at leasat double its size just barely 1 day before !!

1st Self Made Book for Jamie

I was inspired by a fren who shared with me her idea of self making books for her son. She has completed 14 books so far !! :O So, without delay, I immediately searched for nice cliparts from the internet and in the end, I managed to downloaded quite alot. I have 4 books in all to make. Sports, clothing, musical instruments and animals. This Book of Clothing has 16 items altogether. Like jacket, swimming costume, shorts, panty, hat, gloves etc... Not bad huh??
one completed!! left 3 more to go....

Newborn Jamie

Thinking of compiling a unique photo album before Jamie's bday party end of this month. This is my 1st editted photo of all Jamie's ultrasound scans pictures and her newborn photo taken on the 2nd day of her birth. I am not quite gear up to think of how to design the rest of the album yet. Hopefully this project can be complete by then... and i don't like the idea of slotting tons and tons of her photos into a standard photo album.

We have finally settled for the date to celebrate Jamie's turning 2 bdae cum BBQ party at Lisa's condo on the 30th July, just a day after Jamie's birth date. Now I've lotsa prep work to work on. First is the cake. Here's some samples of The Sesame Street cakes that we will be getting for her. Probably go for a 1.5kg.

Fantastic Treats!

After 2 years of "no midnite treats" ... we finally able to catch "Fantastic Four" show this early morning, 12mn!!
Thanks to both sil who willingly agreed to stay at our house (after Jamie has gone to bed) during the 2hrs when we were out at the cinema.
It was refreshing. Such special treats don't come by easily. We probably will have xyrs of "no midnite movies" again after our son is born. Mmm.. that's remind me to catch one or two more before I give birth!

Blessed Anniversary

Today marked our 七 年 之 痒 !!! Strangely I did not feel that we are that "old husband old wife" though 7 years can be such a long journey for some. I'm contented to have this family, CQ and Jamie, to make my life "complete". But most of all, thank God for His blessings all this while. The road may not be smooth and fast sailing at times but putting our trust in Him shall see us through all in all!! We went for a short retail therapy at Bugis Seiyu and I am so happy that I managed to buy 3 sets of clothes (tee & shorts) for Jamie for just $35!! And behind my mind, I was already comtemplating of selling it off once Jamie outgrows it :D Jamie had her afternoon at my parents' place before we both sneaked out to Takashimaya for our retail therapy again :)) my shades from CQ! Isn't it nice? Our new Tiger 3.0 Litre auto dispensed airpot
This is best lobang so far! UP S$229 / Offer S$139 and after offset $80 Takashimaya vouchers, we only forked out $59 !! Yippee!!! Initially we had planned to have our dinner without Jamie since my mum (I supposed) can babysit her for an hour and half when Jamie wakes up around 6pm.... but then... things dun work out the way it is ! My mum called and I could hear Jamie sobbing. Being the worrying parents (as usual), we went back to fetch her and headed to the French Stall near Little India. Managed to finished up the dinner with much effort in singing and playing with Jamie. I would say I enjoyed my fillet and the whipped potatoes while CQ dun really think so although he had his cup of house pour red wine. But one thing for sure, the mussel sucks and lousy ambience (no aircon, no music, aunties waitresses and worst of all, the noisy vehicles passing by)!!! Beef steak with cooked potatoes for CQ

here's my yummy fillet with whipped potatoes

The french stall

We ended the night at Bugis Junction, strolling among the crowds while Jamie was so happy & excited to see the huge outdoor fountain. And the moment we put her down to walk, she just dashed out running & dancing in circles !! That's our daughter.....

Birthday Card for Papa

This bday card was handmade by both of us for CQ last night. Though he came home late but Jamie was good to stay till her papa came home (almost 11pm!) to wish him "Happy Birthday" & present mama's bday present to him.
Hours before, I brought Jamie to the nearby hawker center to "ta-bao" black pepper crabs, kang-kong and tou-fu to celebrate over dinner. The moment Jamie was put to bed, we started our dinner cum supper till midnight.

Independence Day = CQ's Bday

Brought Jamie to JP after her lunch and decided to do some "serious" shopping. Yes, I couldn't find anything good on the website, hence decided to head down to the retailers for help instead! Well, I just wanted to get something that's practical for CQ. While waiting for Daryl, I decided to head down to the Pizza Hut for a quick bfast cum lunch. I manged to finish up my plate of pasta, soup and Pepsi while Jamie happily self-entertained by the flip menu & her biscuits !

And I must confessed that bringing Jamie out nowadays has become a challenge and tiring trip for me. Not becos I'm preggy but plainly becos she's just acting up like a jail bird, the moment she's out of house, she will "flee" as fast as possible! And she doesn't like me to hold her hands. She also loves to walk through and under those boutiques' clothing that hang loosely on the hanger. So when I do my shopping, my eyes gotta keep a lookout for her. She can "disappear" within seconds and then the next minute, appearing in front of me, grinning. Sigh....

One moment she's seems to be enjoying the music ...

But shortly, I heard Jamie shouted "loud music!"

So we are going to have a .....

...SON! Yippee!!! But both of us dun seem to be as excited as what others think. Or rather relatives and friends are more excited than us! Perhaps becos we already "knew" it when bb was 12weeks old. Just that our Gynae couldn't be very sure of. And with all the symptoms that I'm going through, many friends did commented that we will most likely be having a son. So, now, what's next huh?? Yes, it's the headache time for naming our son... but I still can't imagine going to have a son....

I'm turning 23 Months Today!!

Yep! Jamie's 23 months old today! That's fast. Last year she was just a young toddler who barely took her first step. Time really passed!
Good thing we've captured quite a fair bit of her early years photos. These will become precious memory for us to smile at. And the last time we developed her photos was when she's 6mths old. So there's alot more for me to pick and edit before sending out to develop so that we can show it to the family during her 2nd birthday party !!
Yes, it will be held sometime around end of next month. We have decided to hold her birthday bash at Lisa's place. Though its far from our house but its much easier for us to prepare since there'll be a BBQ pit there and the kids can swim and enjoy themselves while the adults can mingle around the pool area.

The Wedding Bells

We attended a close friend's church wedding early this morning at 10am. CQ was helping out in videography so he went out early before us to capture those important moments of their lives while Daryl came over to fetch us to church. The last church wedding (of our church members) that we have attended was Ivan's wedding back in 2001! Oh boy!! That's 4years ago! Jamie had a wonderful time at the church. What else? Of course playing with her friends and busy running about. While I had some time off to eat at the buffet table while CQ's taking his break :D

Baby 1st Trimester Scan

Wanted to blog this but have not been logging on lately. Perhaps due to the lethargy since the day I'm pregnant I think. So nowadays I have been reporting past events that are sometimes passed 2weeks !!
Anyway, went for my 1st trimester scan as requested by my gynae.
I went alone after settling Jamie for her afternoon nap at my parents' place. Thought it will be a short one so I asked CQ not to acompany me. Moreover the timeslot allocated to me was 3:30pm. (prior that I came with Jamie for my blood test at 9am)
Waited for almost 2hrs (arrived an hour early) and finally it was my turn. The first thing I was asked was if my husband came with me. I was quite puzzled as I thought its just a scan, why need husband around?
It was till after the scan then I realised the important of husband's company.
Before the scan, the gynae (not my own gynae) took at least 10-15mins to explain to me the probability of getting a Down Syndrome child as relation to the mother's age. After which, he carefully scanned through the baby's every details mainly the spine, neck and eyes, face area. I suppose these are the important signs of having a Down Syndrome child.
It was a long-long scan. At least half an hour. The usual ultrasound scan only takes a mere 2-3mins the most. So can imagine, me admiring the baby every movement for so long!!
Surprisingly the report came out instantly on the spot after the scan. With the blood test and the scan, the gyane has given a above 95% of us conceiving a normal healthy baby. Praise the Lord!!

Drum

I bought this little drum from a top shop near our house to add-on to Jamie's musical toys. So every now and then she will put the string around her neck and goes around the house "drum-drum-drum" ...
